Overview
Bajaj General Insurance employees previously relied on the HealthySure app, which was limited to basic policy viewing. The opportunity was to build a dedicated employee platform that consolidated policies, claims, health cards, and family coverage into a single, self-service experience.
The challenge
Employees had to navigate multiple touchpoints to access insurance services, which made critical information hard to find and turned common tasks into unnecessarily long processes. The challenge was to design a more intuitive, accessible experience built around actual employee needs, not around how the backend systems were organized.
Research and insight
I conducted stakeholder discussions, reviewed existing insurance workflows, and analyzed common support scenarios across policy management, claims, and employee servicing.
Key insights:
Employees needed information instantly, quick access to policies, health cards, and claims without hopping between channels
Claims were a major point of confusion, many employees didn't understand cashless vs. reimbursement journeys
HR teams were handling repetitive requests, policy details, health card access, and hospital info were the most common support queries
Insurance engagement was mostly reactive, employees only engaged with benefits when they needed them, leading to low awareness of what was available
Product strategy
Four principles guided every decision:
Self-service first, let employees complete common insurance tasks without external help
Action-oriented experience, prioritize high-frequency actions like viewing policies, downloading health cards, and raising claims
Simplified decision-making, break complex insurance processes into clear, guided pathways
Accessible information, make critical insurance information easy to find, understand, and act on

Experience architecture
To organize employee insurance services effectively, I curated an inspiration board of employee, healthcare, and utility apps studying navigation patterns, dashboard layouts, and information hierarchy. This shaped the app's structure, quick-action prioritization, and overall flow.

Interface system
The final experience consolidated policy management, claims tracking, health card access, and family coverage into one connected ecosystem. A simplified information architecture and action-oriented dashboard let employees complete common tasks with more ease and confidence.

Outcome
Shipped in August 2026 and now live:
Unified 4+ employee insurance services into a single experience
Improved discoverability of high-frequency actions through dashboard prioritization
Reduced navigation complexity by surfacing key workflows directly on the home screen
Successfully launched as a live platform supporting employee insurance workflows at Bajaj General Insurance
